Welcome to MMM-2008
The Fourth International Conference on Multiscale Materials Modeling
October 27-31, 2008, Tallahassee, FL, USA
Announcements
Introduction
Multiscale modeling of materials is a major materials science field that attracts a wide range of scientists and engineers from academia, R&D laboratories and industries. This field promotes the development of predictive materials research tools to understand the structure and properties of materials at all scales. The field also strives to use these predictive tools to design and process materials with novel properties. By its very nature, the field of multiscale modeling of materials transcends the boundaries between materials science, mechanics, and physics and chemistry of materials. The increasing interest in this field by mathematicians and computational scientists is creating opportunities for making materials predictions with unprecedented levels of rigor and accuracy.
The MMM conference series is the world’s largest theoretical and computational materials science forum which aims to disseminate the latest development in the field of multiscale materials modeling.
